Important Points to remember for end of season and playoffs.
1) Do not allow teams going to the playoffs to be beaten up by teams already out of the playoffs. You must know the standings and the playoff implications before you begin the varsity matches.

2) The last weeek of the season do not extend time for lower level matches if they are volatile. Do not tolerate abusive players, aggressive players or coaches. Eject any players who are intent on causing problems. Warn, caution and then eject any coaches who are not attempting to control teir players or are out of control themselves.

3) Before terminating any game, try and locate the A D and advise him or her what you are doing. If they insist that the match be completed, please insist that they stay there at the field with you.

4) Continue to check goals and shinguards. These are not excused because it's the last game of the season.

5) Report all send offs and Injuries. As indicated in the memo last week, officials who do not report the serious problems will not be assigned playoff games.

6) Call the area Rep with a verbal report for coach send off and major incidnts, as well as complete the report online. This is mandatory.

7) Remember, you do not have the right to officiate with us next year.

8) Playoff referees must contact the school as soon as they receive their assigment. The Center contacts for the team. Be there 40 minutes before kickoff. Make sure the 5 yad fence or tape is up on both sides of the field. Remember to discuss this with the A D when you call.

9) Game are 40 minutes halves, 2 ten minute O T and 2 10 minutes sudden victory O T. The kicks. Daylight is a issue with O T games. Do not start the match later than 3:00 PM.

10) For kicks, visitor call the toss and can choose to kick first or second. Any player on the roster who has not been disqualified can participate. First 5 for each team, then 1 v 1. If tied after 10 kicks, start again with any 5. Then a different 5. All kick sequences are 1 v 1 after the first 5.

11) Players cautioned during the kicks must sit out until after the kick is taken. The order may be shifted. The coach may replace any kicker before he has taken his kick.

12) A goalie may be replaced before any kick. Goalies may also kick. Goalies may move sideways on the line before the kick is taken. Watch the goalies feet. If he takes more than one step as the kick is taken, be ready to do a retake.
